The correspondent for the Today Show's Money 911 segment, Jean Chatzky, recently featured Melanie Wilt and Wilt Public Relations in Entrepreneur Friday, a segment on her national blog. The advice Melanie shared for others wanting to start a business: "“You have to have a high tolerance for risk, thick skin and a long-term strategy. Very few businesses are overnight successes.”

 SPRINGFIELD, OHIO (August 20, 2009) – Garrigan’s Office Plus today dedicated its newly renovated office and distribution center at 14 N. Yellow Springs Street in Center City Springfield after closing its operations at 234 W. Columbia. The renovated building with a signature butterfly roof has room for a larger sales staff and meeting space around 10,500 square feet. The plans call for 4,500 square feet of office space and a 5,900 square foot warehouse. “Today is a significant milestone for our business and our employees,” said Joe Garrigan. “We are thrilled to be celebrating a move that will establish us for our next 70 years of operation, the renovation of this historic property, and the beautification of a piece of our downtown.” |

DAYTON, Ohio (April 16, 2009) - The Dayton chapter of the Public Relations Society of America awarded Wilt Public Relations a PRism Award for the ribbon cutting event it planned and conducted for client Avetec, Inc. of Springfield in the Non-Profit Special Events and Observances category. Judges from the San Antonio chapter of PRSA described the award entry as "successful and impressive" and having "clear strategy and objectives." The event, which was held October 20, 2008, to celebrate the grand opening of Avetec's new 30,000 square foot state-of-the-art National Center for Advanced Modeling and Simulation, drew about 200 invited guests. During the event, Avetec honored retiring Congressman Dave Hobson by naming the research collaboration center the Dave Hobson Simulation and Education Center. The event was planned and executed by a team made up of Melanie Wilt of Wilt PR (former communication director of Avetec), Sara McKinniss, Wittenberg University student and former Avetec intern, and Sarah Ammar, Mike Madero, Karleigh Spahr, Latice Strickland, Valerie Reed and Jane Balchan, all of Avetec. Wilt and McKinniss accepted the award during the PRSA Annual Prism Awards Banquet at the Schuster Center in Dayton. |
